Summer Internship Programme (SIP) 2026 | Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (Navratna PSU)
Overview The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI), a prestigious Navratna Public Sector Undertaking, is the largest Indian shipping company. Owning and operating approximately one-third of the Indian tonnage, SCI services both national and international trades and manages numerous vessels on behalf of various Government Departments.
About the Internship SCI is inviting applications for its 2026 Summer Internship Programme (SIP). The internship will be conducted at the Head Office in Mumbai and the Branch Office in Kolkata. (Note: SCI reserves the right to post select Mumbai candidates to the Maritime Training Institute at Powai).
This program is open to candidates pursuing:
- Law: Graduate / Post Graduate degree in Law.
- Management: MBA / Post Graduate course in Management (preferably HR, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, Corporate Governance, etc.).
- Engineering: Graduate / Post Graduate degree in relevant branches (preferably Marine, Mechanical, IT, Civil).
Eligibility & Mandatory Requirements
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Academic Criteria: Candidates must possess a minimum of 60% in the semester/year completed prior to the SIP. (For grade point systems, a university letter detailing the percentage conversion is required).
- Mandatory Requirement Letter: This SIP is strictly for candidates for whom an internship is a mandatory part of their educational degree. A formal letter from the university/college stating this mandatory requirement must be submitted.
Terms of Engagement
- Duration: Two (02) months, scheduled between May 2026 and July 2026 (exact dates subject to the institution’s SIP schedule).
- Stipend & Benefits: This is an unpaid internship. No stipend, conveyance, or medical benefits will be provided.
- Logistics: No accommodation or transportation reimbursement is provided for interviews or the internship period. Selected interns must mandatorily carry their own laptops.
Selection Process
- Interview: Selection will be based on a Personal Interview (conducted in physical or online mode). Dates will be updated on the SCI website and communicated via email.
- Required Documents at Interview: 1. Academic mark sheets for the relevant semester/year. 2. Bonafide Certificate from the educational institution. 3. Letter confirming the SIP is a mandatory requirement for the degree.
